One-room schoolhouses served the rural communities of New York State for approximately one hundred and fifty years. Our schoolhouse was moved to its current site in 1987 and restored to serve as an exhibit space for the changes that have occurred in rural education. The room is set up much as it would have been in the area's one-room schoolhouses of the late 1800's and early 1900's. The walls display photographs documenting the major changes in the form and functions of rural schools during the last eighty years.
